Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How soon can I expect results?2023-01-16T11:00:48-06:00

It’s common to experience slight warmth, relaxation of muscles, reduced stiffness, and noticeable pain relief after a few light therapy sessions. Consistent usage over time
commonly results in improved muscle recovery and reduced pain and inflammation. Clinical studies have also shown light therapy to be beneficial for wound healing, overall skin health, and even the reduction of wrinkles with consistent usage.

What do I wear during a session?2023-02-16T11:13:06-06:00

You may wear any clothing that is comfortable, but it is recommended to expose as much skin as possible for the benefit of the light penetrating through it. The light cannot penetrate through clothing.

How long does a session last?2023-02-16T11:14:04-06:00

One session of red light therapy lasts 15 minutes.

Are there bad side effects?2023-02-16T11:14:32-06:00

No, the light therapy is not harmful or painful to the skin.

What are the affects/goals from this therapy?2023-02-16T11:15:04-06:00

The goals of red light therapy are to help alleviate stress, inflammation, and pain. By increasing how many sessions, you can better achieve these goals quicker and sustain results longer.

What can I expect during a session?2023-02-16T11:15:40-06:00

For the 15-minute session, you will undress to your comfort level, lay down in the infrared light bed and wear the eye protection goggles provided. Then, just relax and breathe, and enjoy the heat from the bed. After the bed turns off, you will get dressed and you are done.

What are the benefits of Red Light therapy?2023-02-16T11:18:00-06:00

Infrared red light therapy is intended to aid in better blood circulation and cardiovascular health by helping increase the production of nitric oxide. It is also seen to hasten wound healing and stimulates the regeneration of injured tissues reducing inflammation and pain. Other benefits seen by red light therapy have been improved memory, anxiety, and mood; slowing of hair loss, reduction of skin acne and scarring, and improved chronic and acute pain.

What is infrared Red Light therapy?2023-02-16T11:18:52-06:00

Red Light therapy or photobiomodulation is the use of lower wavelength light waves to penetrate deep into the body where they are absorbed by photoreceptors in our cells. Once absorbed, the light energy causes the mitochondrial of the cells to increase the production of ATP, the energy source for our bodies. This provides our cells with more energy and strengthens overall function and cellular repair.

How often can I do cryotherapy?2023-02-16T11:19:34-06:00

It is safe to try whole-body cryotherapy daily if desired and it is actually recommended for the maximum benefits to obtain compounding effects, to use cryotherapy 3-5 times per week.

Is whole-body cryotherapy proven by research to help with medical conditions?2023-02-16T11:19:57-06:00

Yes, electric, whole-body cryotherapy has now been published in over 220 medical journals as effective to use for numerous health issues.

Are there restrictions on those who can use cryotherapy?2023-02-16T11:20:42-06:00

The following conditions are contraindicated for cryotherapy: Pregnancy, severe uncontrolled hypertension (BP> 180/100), acute or recent myocardial infarction (heart attack within 6 months), narrowing of valves, crescent-shaped aorta and mitral valve, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmias, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, cardiac pacemaker, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident (stroke: must be cleared for exercise), uncontrolled seizures, Raynaud’s syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, severe anemia, infection, claustrophobia, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases, incontinence, age less than 18 years (parental consent required).

What are the risks? Is it safe?2022-11-30T16:14:00-06:00

Electric, whole-body cryotherapy is safer than using liquid nitrogen. It is essentially a large, walk-in freezer. There are no harmful gases and the door can easily be pushed open when ready to exit. The only risks to using cryotherapy are the ones covered under our medical waiver.

What do I wear?2022-11-30T16:12:53-06:00

It is required that you wear shorts or undergarments, put on the provided gloves, socks, slippers, and ear protection. You may wear more if desired but to achieve the best results, the more skin showing safely, the better.

How long are the sessions?2023-02-16T11:21:54-06:00

Each session of cryotherapy is 3-4 minutes. This includes undressing, applying the required safety wear such as gloves, socks, slippers, and ear muffs. Once properly dressed, you will start your timer, enter the pre-chamber and after 30 seconds, you will then enter the cold chamber. After 3:30, you will exit and redress.

What can I expect?2022-11-30T16:10:26-06:00

Once you enter the cold chamber, you can expect to feel very cold. Your body will begin to shake and try to warm itself. By withstanding the urge to exit, you will then force your body to enter in to its fight or flight response. This is the desired effect and maintaining this level of discomfort for at least 3 minutes, you will leave the chamber feeling absolutely incredible.

What is whole-body cryotherapy?2023-01-16T11:02:09-06:00

Whole-body cryotherapy is the process of exposing your entire body, including your head to subzero temperatures for a short time to achieve desired affects including reduction in pain and inflammation, release of endorphins, and improvement in sleep and mood.
